This game is a self imposed game jam that was created in 3 days. It was inspired by Minijam: Depths but it wasn't submitted because I didn't make it during the jam. Also this game ended up not following the prompt.

You are attempting to resurrect an ancient god, but doing such a thing requires followers and resources. Exploit the surrounding countryside, train new disciples and clash with enemy cults.

This is a worker placement and resource management game. You can place your disciples on spaces on the grid to gather resources, build buildings or take over unowned territory. Your goal is to claim every standing stone on the map and build a grand monument to your god. But be careful! The enemy territory constantly expands and when they border you, they will prioritise taking your land!

Once I had 4 lairs and disciples I just kept sacrificing disciples to take territory at any cost and never used a war camp. Once I'd wiped out the opposition I didn't have much to do while waiting for resources to build up for the monument.

Nice overview, and does point out a big flaw in the balance. Game jams can always have a little wonkiness in their balance!

The disciple sacrificing definitely needs to be dialled down a lot in power, especially when you have enough disciples, you can afford to have one on permanent 'retraining'.  Maybe needs a global cooldown or a large summons cost (no followers) in addition and it is more treated as a powerful tile takeover that hits adjacent ones, not a last resort (which it was meant to be, though it is not costly enough to be that in its final form).

Tbh the war camp seemed really expensive and I wasn't sure I'd have time to get one before the opponents started taking territory. I admittedly did waste a bit of time at the beginning trying to work out the controls, so maybe I'd have more time to get adequately prepared before they start trying to take territory if I tried again.
